Crystal Clear is pleased to present the Featured Artist of the Month.  The July 2001 winner is Back Roads Band!  Our quest began together as three young people excited and inspired by music, who became one cesspool of creativity through common ties and common goals.

We started playing together in March of 1998,  based out of Hagerstown, MD.  Our group consists of three souls;  Trent Renshaw (Drums), Robert Foutch (Bass, Guitar, Vocals) and David Foutch (Guitar, Bass, Vocals).  We grew together and developed an original sound, everyone having a wide range of influences, so with the blues, everything just began to flow out naturally from there, Reggae…Jazz…Funk…Good Things…

In December of 2000 we recorded for the first time at Crystal Clear Studios in Northeast Philadelphia, thanks to my good friend Andy Schroder who also engineered and produced along with studio owner Joey Heier.  We laid down six songs all originals in a one-day trip.

On March 18th we played a benefit concert at the Kepler Theater in Hagerstown for Kacie Faith and Ethan Morningstar, which was recorded and mastered.  Nine songs, eight originals and one cover (Jimmy Rogers-Walkin’ by myself).  Now we have CD’s for $7, including both studio and live recordings.

Listen to the music, enjoy yourself, dance, meditate, do your thing, but whatever you do, you must come hear us live!  We will be opening the Western Maryland Blues Festival on Friday, June 1st at 11:30 a.m., outside in front of The Maryland Theatre.
